Days of the Week (Dni tygodnia)

Here are the days of the week in Polish:

Grammar Notes:

• Days of the week are masculine nouns in Polish.
• When talking about something happening on a specific day, use the preposition w (on) + the day in the locative case. For example:
  • W poniedziałek (on Monday), w sobotę (on Saturday).

Example Sentences:

• W poniedziałek idę do pracy. – On Monday, I go to work.
• W sobotę odpoczywam. – On Saturday, I rest.
• W niedzielę jem obiad z rodziną. – On Sunday, I eat lunch with my family.

Months of the Year (Miesiące)

Here are the months of the year in Polish:

• Months are also masculine nouns in Polish.
• When talking about something happening in a specific month, use the preposition w (in) + the month in the locative case. For example:
  • W styczniu (in January), w lipcu (in July).

Example Sentences:

• Urodziłem się w maju. – I was born in May. (male speaker)

3. Create Your Own Sentences:
   Write 5 sentences using days of the week and 5 sentences using months. For example:
   • W czwartek oglądam film. – On Thursday, I watch a movie.
   • W czerwcu jest ciepło. – In June, it’s warm.

Cultural Tip: Polish Holidays and Traditions

In Poland, certain days and months are associated with special holidays and traditions:

• Boże Narodzenie (Christmas) is celebrated in grudzień (December).
• Wielkanoc (Easter) usually falls in marzec (March) or kwiecień (April).
• Andrzejki (St. Andrew’s Day) is celebrated on 30 listopada (November 30th) with fun fortune-telling games.

1. Write down your weekly schedule in Polish. For example:
